A Mountaintop Engagement

At the beginning of the week we ventured to the top of Mount Macedon for Jonathan and Gabriele’s (Gab-ri-e-lee) engagement session. And just saying…I think I might have found one of my favourite spots to photograph! (Who’s coming up with me again soon?!) I’ve known Jonathan for a long time, and I felt so honoured when he enquired about me doing there wedding photos . Gabriele is from Brazil, and after their wedding in Australia they’ll be heading over for another celebration (if you need a photographer to come with you… *nudge nudge*).

When trying to think of an engagement location, Jonathan initially discussed going to Hanging Rock. But unfortunately, Hanging Rock has strict opening and close times, PLUS there was a hike involved (not exactly my favourite). However, apparently you can just drive up to the top of Mount Macedon PLUS there’s no official ‘leave time’ which was FANTASTIC!

Our session began up at the beautiful Mount Macedon Memorial Cross and the lovely path that leads up to it. I personally had never been up to see this before, and it’s an amazing structure! You should really go have a look.

Jonathan and Gabriele nailed these photos. They have a genuine love for each other and were down to try anything! Their session was full of fun, laughs and even a few tackles and piggy backs! My favourite part of our session was when we went out to the rocky area right near the lookout. Being an overcast day, we had a perfect view and decided to soak it all in! The only thing missing was the sunshine peeking through those clouds at sunset. I guess I’ll have to wait for next time to capture that shot!
