Engagement Party Turned Wedding Reception

SURPRISE! Something special happened in February and I’ve been wanting to tell people for AGES! Harry and Maddy got married! Now why is this a ‘surprise’? Well, when Maddy first contacted me about doing their wedding photos, she told me the plan. They wanted to have a secret wedding with their closest family, then arrive at their ‘engagement party’ and surprise everyone there. As soon as I got that email, I knew this was going to be a good one.

The whole day we were thinking “please nobody drive past and see us or the dress hanging up in the window”, and it appears that nobody saw a thing. The morning started with a heap of fun, a first look and then it was finally ceremony time! I got to meet the lovely ‘Marry Me Becky’ for the first time, and she ran the ceremony with enthusiasm and a lot of laughter.

Owning multiple family farms made the secret a lot easier to keep. We had the gorgeous ceremony at one, photos at another, then the reception / engagement party was set up at another one. All throughout the day, everyone was lovely and we had heaps of fun. The wind wasn’t really our friend, but we managed to get through!
